At present, permit and license applications are available to residents via town’s website as PDF forms. However these PDF forms do not have in built ability for applicants to enter data into those forms directly. Instead, applicants will have to either write on a print out of such form or if they have PDF writer capability, enter data into the form and then print because software does not provide capability to submit those forms electronically.

Paper copies of the permit applications received by the town are reviewed, recorded and data from applications manually entered by clerical staff into a database, routing slip created and permits processed manually. Along the way, more paper copies of such forms are created by several processing entities. We think, you would agree that this is a time consuming, error prone, paper and labor intensive, manual process. In addition, there is no way to report, track and ensure validity of the permits being processed. In addition, there is always a danger of a permit being granted by default or that a permit getting lost in the paper shuffle.
