			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We all know that Commonwealth of Massachusetts has passed a information security regulation for protection of privacy information called CMR 17.0 This regulation went into effect from March 1, 2010. This would be an additional burden and expenditure on a already strained local government budgets. However, the office of Consumet Affairs Protection who is incharge of ensuring the compliance of the regulation, stated that local governmental agencies like towns and municipalities are exempted from being in compliance with the regulation.</p>
<p>Attached is the publication of FAQ documentation issuing clarification on Municipalities that says in non-legalesed language that towns and municipalities are exempted from complying to CMR 17.0 on protection of privacy information.</p>
